KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Lt. John Karris, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer; Sgt. Joseph Keene, Syracuse Police Department; and Deputy Chief Travis Marsh, Milford Police Department, graduated from the Police Leadership Academy, which is sponsored by the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police Foundation.
PELA graduates have received advanced training in leadership management, human resources, communication skills development, organizational development, and strategic management. The courses were presented in three, one-week modules in 2016 and 32 officers from departments all over the state participated in the 2016 PELA program. Graduates have achieved mastery of these leadership skills to better serve the community and lead fellow officers with the highest level of personal effectiveness.
