Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals Approves One Variance

Syracuse Town HallSYRACUSE — A variance was approved at the regular meeting of the Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals Thursday, Nov. 21. Another variance was continued until December and another variance was withdrawn.

Dale and Betty Spoor’s petition is for a variance to allow an accessory building to remain 6 feet from the south property line. The property is located at 1408 N. Long Drive.

The petition was withdrawn by the petitioner. The setbacks were incorrect, per a provided survey. The couple will be re-petitioning.

Sally Snyder’s petition for a variance was approved as requested. The petition is to allow the construction of a residence’s addition 28 feet to a boatwell (water). The property is located at 715 S. Harkless Drive.

Margaret Roederer trust’s petition for a variance is to allow the placement of a cover over the area between a retaining wall and house foundation to control water at 1.67 feet from the east side property line. The property is located at 715 E. Northshore Drive. Her petition was continued to December’s meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.
