SYRACUSE — A good turnout took place at the Syracuse Parks Department’s annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 27, at Lakeside Park. This year’s format was a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The weather was great for the egg hunt at almost 50 degrees and sunny.

Children turned in eggs to get prizes after the hunt. Each child who returned the eggs received a treat. There were three golden eggs in every age group. Those who found the golden eggs received a special prize … a  basket full of goodies.

There were three age group categories and each hunt took place at different times. Hunts started right on time. The first hunt was at 9:45 a.m. for ages 0-3; kids ages 4-6 searched next; and children ages 7-10 began at 11:15 a.m.

“We had a pretty good turnout today, and it was a perfect day,” said Darin Lursen, program director for the parks department. He said about 50 children in each age group participated in the egg hunt.
