Constance Josiane Dausman, Warsaw, known to most as “Connie” and to her closest family and friends as “JoJo,” died quietly at home, with her family at her side, at 7:52 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021.
She was born in Madagascar Sept. 27, 1953. She was the daughter of Sylvain and Josephine Ratsimba and traveled to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student; at 17, she moved to the United States though she always held close her love for Madagascar and her huge Malagasy family.
She was hardworking, selfless and loved her family unconditionally. She shared her love with everyone, strangers included, and always saw the good in others. This was fitting as she worked as both a CNA and QMA, primarily at Grace Village, and enjoyed caring for others. She also enjoyed animals of all kinds, but especially birds, feeding the birds outside of her home each day. She loved to cook and put a bit of herself into each dish she made, pouring in the love when she was feeding her family, who were her greatest pride.
On Nov. 8, 1975, she married Terry Dausman; he survives. Also surviving are three sons: Chad (Julie) Wagoner of Evans City, Penn., Derrick Dausman of Warsaw and Andrew (Nicole) Dausman of Ellwood City, Penn.; five grandchildren: Haley, Hannah, Dominic, Ava and Aubree; and two brothers, C’esaire and Rollin. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Laurence, Ruffin and Romuald; and two sisters, Cle’mence and Aristide.
A Life Celebration is planned with Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, where friends may gather for visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 3. Beginning at 6 p.m., Titus Funeral Home’s Sharon Brockhaus will officiate the funeral service. Burial will take place privately Thursday, March 4, in Leesburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Written condolences may be left for the family at www.TitusFuneralHome.com.
